We are running free Chlorine through the Water Treatment Plant and out into our Water Distribution System. The purpose of changing our water treatment process at this time is to ensure safety protocols for future usage. Use of Disinfection by- products into a water system has some negative effects on water being stored for long periods of time. We are trying to prevent any micro-organisms from forming in pipes or tanks. We will reverse this treatment back to total chlorine process in about two weeks. Meanwhile there may be some taste and odor issues.
