CITY OF PHILIP UTILITY ACCOUNTS – SEWER RATE INCREASE

Effective on the July 1st billing, city utility accounts with sewer services will see a change to the monthly sewer rates. These were approved following a utility rate study completed by SDARWS which found that the sewer fund has experienced a negative cash flow over the last few years. The new rates also reflect separate residential and commercial/ industrial rates as outlined below. (Last rate increase was in 2017.)

IN CITY UTILITY CUSTOMER RATES OUT OF CITY UTILITY CUSTOMER RATES
   
Residential: $25 minimum Residential: $50 minimum
+ $3 / 1,000 gals. (over 2,000 gals.)
Monthly charge established from 1st quarter water usage
Total monthly utility minimum charge  
 = $63.50 (previously $59.50)
Total monthly utility minimum charge      
= $91.00 (previously $83.50)
   
Commercial/Industrial: $30 minimum Commercial/Industrial: $60 minimum
+ $3 / 1,000 gals. (over 2,000 gals.)
Monthly charge based on actual usage
Total monthly utility minimum charge      
= $51.00 (previously $42.00)
Total monthly utility minimum charge      
= $101.00 (previously $83.00)
 
*Sewer Minimums Include: $11.10 in Surcharges ($6.40 WW & $4.70 SW)
