Graduates earn 130 degrees, certificates from Oglala Lakota College

About 37.7 percent of the 130 degrees and certificates handed out by Oglala Lakota College in 2017-18 were to students in area, ethnic, cultural, gender and group studies programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Kyle conferred 23 associate's degrees and 12 bachelor's degrees in area, ethnic, cultural, gender and group studies programs.

But the single most popular program was for a associate's degree in american indian/native american studies. Data shows the school gave out 23 associate's degrees in american indian/native american studies, followed by 18 bachelor's degrees in general business administration and management and 12 bachelor's degrees in american indian/native american studies.

The college enrolled 1,300 students for 2017-18, including 1,263 in undergraduate programs and 37 in graduate programs.
