Oglala Lakota College enrolls 1,263 undergrads

At Oglala Lakota College, 61 percent of undergraduate students are nontraditional students - age 25 or older - and 67 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Kyle enrolled 1,300 students in fall 2018, including 1,263 in undergraduate and 37 in graduate programs, data shows. 2.2 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

99 percent of undergraduates are residents of South Dakota, and 1 percent are residents of other states.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as American Indian or Alaska Native (94 percent) and white (4 percent).
