Buffalo ranked 22nd in South Dakota for resident earnings in 2019

Buffalo ranked 22nd among cities in South Dakota by annual earnings per resident, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The median income of Buffalo residents was $42,292 per year, adjusted for inflation. It had 148 households with a population of 324.

The city with the highest median resident income in the state was Broadland with $88,750 per year after adjusting for inflation – $46,458 more than Buffalo. It had 13 households with a population of 26.

The city with the lowest median resident income in the state was Wounded Knee with $5,724 per year after adjusting for inflation – $36,568 less than Buffalo. It had 72 households with a population of 470.
