This position works under general supervision to provide street, water, and sewer service to the City of Belle Fourche.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Install, maintain and repair meters, pumps, pipelines, mains, fire hydrants and the like as directed
• Read consumers meters as assigned
• Assist in the operation of the lift station, leach fields, sewer treatment ponds and sewer lines
• Operate camera for sewer lines
• Clean storm, water and sewer catch basins, repairing broken sewer lines and replacing worn and damaged parts
• Shovel snow from walks, remove snow from streets and/or sand streets, as needed
• Erects and repairs street signage and markings
• Manual labor as needed to help maintain and repair the streets of Belle Fourche as directed by foreman
• Drive snow removal equipment, consisting of truck or tractor equipped with adjustable snowplow, blower unit and/or sanding unit
• Perform mechanic duties as needed
• Operate a variety of equipment which may include but is not limited to front end loader, bobcat, backhoe, boom truck, sweeper, dump truck, sprayer, snow removal equipment, sander, pumps, air compressors, hand tools, small engine equipment, trucks, plows, sanders, office machines, telephone, two-way radio, etc.
• Load fallen tree limbs and roadside trash onto truck and deliver refuse to landfill
• Maintain and repair worn or damaged parts in machines and equipment as needed
Minimum Requirements
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
• Or one to three months related experience and/or training;
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
