11.1% of households in Rapid Valley received food stamps in 2020

Rapid Valley ranked 118th in South Dakota for the percentage of households receiving food stamps in 2020, according to U.S. Census Bureau data.

There were 367 Rapid Valley households (11.1 percent) who received food stamps. Rapid Valley's population was 8,553 in 2020.

The cities with the largest percentage of households receiving food stamps in the state were Allen, Wounded Knee and Manderson-White Horse Creek. In these cities, 100 percent of households received food stamps - 88.9 percent more than Rapid Valley.

The city with the lowest percentage of households receiving food stamps in the state was Ethan, which had one of 144 households receiving food stamps, 10.4 percent less than Rapid Valley. In 2020 the population of Ethan was 328.
