SPEARFISH, SD – The Spearfish City Council approved a utility rate change, effective January 1, 2023.

The rates residential customers will see, effective January 1, are:

Garbage collection = $19.60 (plus tax)

Sewer fixed rate = $23.08

Wastewater fixed rate = $29.91

Water base rate = $17.16

Water incremental rates: 

• Up to 2,000 gallons, per 1,000 gallons = $2.31
• 2,001 to 8,000 gallons, per 1,000 gallons = $4.05
• 8,001 to 30,000 gallons, per 1,000 gallons = $4.50
• More than 30,000 gallons, per 1,000 gallons = $4.73
