U.S. Senator John Thune of South Dakota appeared on Fox News with Harris Faulkner to discuss President Trump's nominees. Thune highlighted the qualifications and progress of these individuals, emphasizing their importance in implementing the president's agenda.

Discussing Pete Hegseth, Thune noted that many nominees have been engaging with Capitol Hill committees responsible for their confirmation process. He remarked, "Pete Hegseth in his conversations, I think, with members has been very compelling in terms of what he believes is necessary to put the real, you know, focus on the warfighter when it comes to the Defense Department’s priorities." Thune praised Hegseth's background as a combat veteran and his understanding of military needs.

Thune also addressed President Trump's broader selection of nominees: "I think the important thing here is President Trump needs his team in place to be able to implement his agenda. These are the people that he selected." He expressed confidence in the Senate's role in providing advice and consent during the confirmation process.

Regarding the FBI director nominee, Thune stated that this individual is actively meeting with senators relevant to his nomination. He said, "These are a lot of agencies...that are desperately in need of reform, of modernization, of some house cleaning."

Thune concluded by acknowledging public demand for change: "The American people wanted to see change. That’s why they gave President Trump the vote."
