U.S. Senate Majority Leader John Thune has commented on the recent Israel-Hamas hostage deal, expressing hope for peace and the return of hostages. "Fifteen months after Hamas launched a brutal war against our allies in Israel, today’s ceasefire and hostage deal is a relief to a world on edge," said Thune.

Thune emphasized the importance of the agreement in ensuring the safe return of hostages taken by Hamas. He stated, "I am hopeful that this deal will lead to the return of every single hostage taken by Hamas terrorists and ultimately greater peace in the region."

The Senate leader also mentioned readiness to collaborate with the incoming Trump-Vance administration. He assured that efforts would be made to protect U.S. interests abroad and support Israel in enforcing the deal. Thune concluded by stressing, "to ensure that every single American citizen returns home."
