U.S. Senate Majority Leader John Thune appeared on Fox News with Sean Hannity to discuss significant achievements and plans of the current Congress. Thune highlighted the Senate's efforts to expedite the presidential Cabinet appointments and maintained an intensive legislative schedule, saying, "We did get the president’s Cabinet in place, the fastest rate in 20 years."

Thune emphasized the critical nature of the current Republican leadership across government branches, "We’ve got to make the most of these two years where we’ve got President Trump’s leadership."

On the topic of budget reconciliation, Thune spoke about leveraging the unified control of government to pass significant measures with a simple majority in the Senate. He praised Lindsey Graham for his role, stating, "Lindsey [Graham] has done a great job as the chairman of the Budget Committee."

Tax policies were also discussed, with Thune advocating for the permanency of President Trump's tax cuts. He stated, "I can’t think of a Republican that would abide a $4 trillion tax increase on the American people."

Fair trade was another focal point of the discussion, where Thune supported President Trump's tariff policies and negotiation strategies, recognizing the electoral mandate, "The president … he won 77 million votes, and there wasn’t a day on the campaign trail where he didn’t talk about tariffs."
