The City of Hot Springs, SD is looking for a Recreation Director!

POSITION TITLE: Recreation Director

Employer: City of Hot Springs, 303 N. River Street Hot Springs, SD 57747

Work Hours/Days: As required to meet program needs, Seasonal approx. May-Sept

CLASSIFICATION: Seasonal Employee; Anticipated 800 hours total (PT)

Wage: $15.70/hr. + .25¢ yearly for longevity up to four years

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: City Administrator

SUMMARY DESCRIPTIONThe Recreation Director is responsible for the planning, scheduling, supervising and evaluating the Summer Recreation Program. The Director will work with the City Administrator to remain within budget. Director is also responsible for the hiring, coordination and training of Instructors and Assistants. Incumbent will organize the summer program, coordinate employees, contractors and volunteers to include coordinating registration, scheduling leagues, ordering supplies & equipment, evaluate programs and coordinate with the public on the program.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS1. CPR certification, current or within 30 days2. Two (2) or more years of experience working in a recreation or teaching environment3. Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel (preference given to applicants that have experience using the Google Suite, including conducting surveys using Google Forms)4. Ability to email and use a computer proficiently5. State Driver’s License
